Vintage Car Club of New Zealand and it is Branch policy that where possible,
prospective members attend a Club night - Noggin & Natter, in the company of
the member proposing the new member and meet the secretary or a committee
member who will see that the new member is shown the facilities available and
where possible is introduced to other members with similar vehicles and
interests. The monthly meeting, - Noggin & Natter, is held on the first
Thursday of each month in the Clubrooms, Cutler Park McLean's Membership Application forms are available from the Secretary. In order to join the Club, it is necessary to be nominated and seconded by club members, both of whom must be current financial members. Your application must be approved at a Committee meeting of the Branch, (held on the Monday preceding the first Thursday of the month) and it is then forwarded to the National Office for processing. Membership cards are forwarded to you from there. It is not until the National Office has processed your application and forwarded your membership card that your membership takes effect. From that date you will receive a copy of the Canterbury Branch newsletter, "The Hub" and bi-monthly a copy of the national magazine "Beaded Wheels". The cost for new membership for a full year is $105.75 including GST. This amount includes a one-off joining fee of $30 plus GST. Joint membership incurs an additional cost of $13.50 including GST. However, as the Club's financial year ends on March 31st, the costs of joining and subscription reduce on a three monthly basis throughout the year to compensate for the shorter subscription period. A joint member must be the partner of the member and/or a dependent student child between the age of 12 and 18 years inclusive who is resident at the same address as the member. Members and joint members enjoy the same rights including voting rights but are sent one only copy of each addition of the Branch newsletter and "Beaded Wheels". We trust that as a member of the Vintage Car Club that you will take part in the Club's rallying and social activities. If you don't as yet have a motoring vehicle, we suggest that you become involved in other ways, such as marshalling at rallies etc. this being an excellent way of meeting other members. Name badges can be ordered from the "Noggin Shop" at the bar during the above mentioned "Noggin and Natter". The Branch has a Library with an extensive range of books and magazines and a large Parts Compound which carries a great range of parts. Several sub-groups within the Branch cater for the various different types of vehicles such as Motorcycles and Commercial Vehicles at no additional charge to the member.
